THE 31ST ALL INDIA JAMIAT AHLE- HADEETH CONFERENCE, CONCLUDED WITH SUCCESS AND

The 31st All India Jamiate Ahle Hadeeth Conference at Ramlila Ground, New Delhi was such an inspiring example of exemplary discipline that it would leave an enduring impression on the minds of Delhi people. It was s grand gathering and historic. In this General Conference, which was held in the sprawling Ramlila Maidan on 2-3 March, 2012, the Imam Harame Makki, Dr. Saud Bin Ibrahim As-Shuraim was the Chief Guest. He delivered Juma Khutba and led Friday prayer where almost 4 Lakh Muslims renewed their pledge to hold fast to the rope of Allah leaving Maslaki and Sectarian differences aside. Sheikh As-Shuraim on the topic of Adalatus Sahaba, the central theme of 31st All India Ahle Hadeeth Conference, said in Juma Khutba:

“The first thing to which the Islamic scholars turn after the Book of Allah is the Sunnah of His Apostle (S.A.W.), for it explains the intention of God such as are implied in His Book. And one of the most important elements which help us understanding the Sunnah is the knowledge of those noble personalities who have transmitted it, to the whole world and these are his Companions and his helpers (Hawwariyyun).

These are the “best generation” and the “best community” that has been sent forth to mankind. The righteousness of all of them has been confirmed by God’s and His Apostle’s praise of them. None can be more righteous than he whom God was pleased to make a Companion and Helper of His Prophet and there can be no purity greater than theirs and no manifestation of righteousness more complete. Allah says in the Holy Quran: “ And of those who led the way the first of the Emigrants (Muhajirun) and the Helpers (Ansar), and those, who followed them in the best possible manner Allah is well-pleased with them and they are well pleased with Allah. He has prepared for them Gardens beneath which rivers flow; therein they will abide for ever. That is the Supreme triumph”. (Surah Al-Tawbah 9:100)

Some other places too Allah says in the Holy Quran: “We appointed you to be the community of the middle way …….” (Al-Baqrah,2:143). You are now the best of People brought forth for mankind (Al-Imran, 3:110).

It is pertinent to point here that this is one of several verses which establish the excellence of Prophet’s Companions. The verse also shows how wrong are those who are prone to launch attack on the Companions. For it is quite obvious this verse directly identifies the Companions as those chosen by God, and further that it extols other members of the Ummah indirectly.

Abu Saeed (Al-Khudri) reported the messenger of Allah (S.A.W.) as saying: Do not revile my Companions; by Him in Whose hand my soul is, if one of you contributed the amount of gold equivalent to Uhad, it would not amount to as much as the mudd of one of them, or half of it.”

(Sunan Abu Daud Hadith No.4641)

This Hadith indicates the superiority of the companions to other Muslims.

Imran bin Husain reported the Apostle of Allah (S.A.W.) as saying: the best of my people is the generation in which I have been sent, then their immediate followers, then their immediate followers. Allah knows best whether he mentioned the third or not. After them there will be people who will give testimony without being asked, who will make vows which they do not fulfil, who will be treacherous and not to be trusted, among them fatness will appear” (Sunan Abu Dawud Hadeeth No.4640)

The attachment of the Companions to the Holy Prophet (S.A.W.) was unparalled and marvelous hitherto not witnessed in the life of any Prophet or great man. It is no wonder therefore that the sayings and doings of the Holy Prophet were preserved by his companion’s and followed in their practical life without any doubt or question. This was the chief of the causes that we find that everything of the Prophet’s sayings, and deeds recorded either in mind’s depository or on tangible something. The Companions such minutest details, such as how he ate food, drank water, sat and talked with the people and whether his teeth were exposed at the time when he laughed and talked; and whether he combed his hairs or not were preserved by the Companions for the posterity. Those things were first recorded in the pages of their minds and found room subsequently in the pages of books. Thus the Traditions (Hadith) came down from the Campanions of the Prophet to their successors.

The Companions of the Holy Prophet (S.A.W.) were supreme among all mankind after the Prophets. To criticize or make allegation against them is criticism on Islam. The Companion’s contempt is the contempt of Islam. A true Muslim can tolerate all sorts of pain and hate but can’t tolerate the disgrace and defamation noble companions. Allah, the most Exalted in Holy Quran and the Holy Prophet (S.A.W.) in his Sunnah has stated the noble probity of Sahaba-e-Keram. The Holy Prophet (S.A.W.) has said: “Do not revile my Companions” till the last word of Hadith.

Among all the Companions Abubakr was the most excellent, then Umar, then Uthman, then Ali, then ‘Ashrae Mubash-Shirah, then Oath takers under the tree, then Ahle-Badr, then the Companions who embraced Islam before the conquest of Makkah and then all the other Companions. However Allah remembered all of them with; “Allah is well-pleased with them and they are well-pleased with Allah”. And Allah has prepared for them Gardens beneath which rivers flow; therein they will abide for ever.

The Companions of Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.) rejoiced the good pleasure of Allah and their salvation is the Supreme Felicity which such Good pleasure gives. The disgrace and insult by a section of people against some Prophet’s Companions and those who trust in their superiority are misled. They are the people who do not make use of their faculties of learning, speaking and understanding in the service of Allah, and in fact misuse their faculties to blaspheme Allah, the Holy Prophet and his Companions. The Muslim Ummah must remember and take note of it, and should avoid any deviation from the Will of Allah and the Sunnah of the Holy Prophet (S.A.W.). Those who show narrow mindness towards Sahaba-e-Kiram are not True believers of Allah and Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.). Their thoughts, motives, feelings, ideas, intentions and events are known to Him.

They teach the principles of mutual benevolence, unity, peace, brotherhood, love of the country, respect of human values, reject the causes of conflict, condemn terrorism and dislike terrorists.

HISTORICAL BACKGROUND:

Ahle Hadeeth exist with the existence of Islam. They exist in every part of the world wherever is Muslim population. They exist in India from time Muslims came to India. Their estimated population is about 25-30 millions. Markazi Jamiat Ahle Hadeeth is their representative organization founded In December, 1906. No any Muslim religious and social organization existed prior to this Jamat in India. It has 22 branches at state levels, more than 200 branches at district levels and forty thousand at local levels who are playing a great role in the development of education, social, agriculture, politics, industry, relief, human resource, development and defence of the country. They cooperate with other existing Milli organizations for the mutual benevolence, unity, peace, brotherhood and religious unity.

Among those who were Ahle Hadeeths in India were Muhammad Bin Tugluq (1325-1351), Maulana Shams. Al Din Ibn Al Haweri, Maulana Alam Al Din (grandson of Sheikh Baba Al Din Zakaryya of Multan), Shah Wali Allah (1702-1763), Maulana Abdul Aziz Muhaddith Dehlavi,Shah Muhammad Ismail Shaeed, Maulana Wilayat Ali Azeem Abadi, Sir Syed Ahmad Khan (1817-1898), Nawab Muhammad Siddiq Hasan Khan(1832-1890), Maulana Abul Kalam Azad (1888-1958) (who was a freedom fighter and first education minister of India). There is circumstantial evidence of Balban (1266-1287) and Alauddin Khilji (1296-1316) as they were Ahle Hadeeth.

The endeavors of Jamiat Ahle Hadeeth in the intellectual, cultural, Dawah, publication, academic and social fields make Ahle Hadeeths one of the most talked in the media and religious circles of India.

Ahle Hadeeth of India have been keeping very coordial relations with Saudi Arabia since the time of king Abdul Aziz bin Abdul Rahman Ale Saud. This relation grew stronger day by day during the time of king Faisal bin Abdul Aziz Ale-Saud, King Saud , King Fahd bin Abdul Aziz, King Abdulla bin Abdul Aziz Ale-Saud. Last year we had an opportunity to welcome the Imam Harame Makki Dr. Abdur Rahman Al Sudais and today we are welcoming another Imam of Kaaba, Dr. Saud bin Ibraihm As Shuraim in Ramlia Ground, New Delhi. Lastly the Secretary General Maulana Asghar Imam Mahadi Salafi thanked Khadimain Harmain King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz. Ale-Saud, his debuty Ameer Naif bin Abdul Aziz Ale Saud, Minister of Islamic Affairs Sheikh Salih bin Abdul Aziz Ale Shaikh, Wakeel Al-Wazarah Maalee Dr Abdul Aziz Bin Abdullah Al-Ammar, His Excellency Saud bin Muhammad As-Satee, His Excellency Ahmad Ali Al-Rumi, attaché Saudi Embassy New Delhi.

The Imam Harame Makki, Dr. Saud bin Ibrahim As-Shuraim, as a chief guest in the Conference delivered a historic speech:

“The Companions were a community molded by the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Messenger, both of which are available to us and are capable of creating a God-fearing Ummah in any time and in any place when they are adopted as a programme and a method until the Day of Judgement. Sahabae Kiram were the best people after the Prophets. They plunged themselves into implementing the Commands of Allah and teachings of the Holy Prophet (S.A.W.) in their daily life. Allah was well-pleased with them and they were well-pleased with Allah. They were promised of Gardens as a reward for the commitment. That’s why it is forbidden to revile the Companions, hate them insult or disgrace them. We should avoid such acts and continue to pursue the goal of a life in the shade of the Quran, Sunnah and path of the Companions.

In this last session some important resolations were adopted which will appear in the next issue.

Earlier on Thursday (March1, 2012) His Highness Dr. Saud Bin Ibrahim As Shuraim, Imam of Grand Mosque at Makkah arrived at Indra Gandhi International Air Port at 10.30 A.M. by Saudi Airlines. The Indian Capital was abuzz with talks about his arrival. Markzi Jamiat Ahle Hadeeth Hind, on whose invitation His Highness was coming to India, was leaving no stone unturned to ensure that his stay is memorable. The respected guest was welcomed by Maulana Asghar Imam Mahadi Salafi and prominent members of Markazi Jamiat Ahle Hadeeth with a fusion of Islamic hospitality.

According to the programme Imam Harame Makki visited the Ahle Hadeeth complex, Okhla to lead Isha prayer where hundred and thousand Muslims (men and women) had gathered to pray Isha prayer and listen his address. Maulana Asghar welcoming the respected guest requested him to address the gathering where he delivered a brief Sermon.

The Imame Kaaba thanked the Markazi Jamiat for the invitation to visit India and meet the brothers in this part of the world. Jamate Ahle Hadeeth is a group of Muslims who strictly adhere to Quran and Sunnah and avoid innovations in religion. Abu Amir Al Hawdhani said: Muawiyah bin Abi Sufyan stood among us and said; Beware! The Apostle of Allah (S.A.W.) stood among us and said: Beware! The people of the Book before were split up into seventy two sects, and this community will be split up into seventy three; Seventy two of them will go to Hell and one of them will go to Paradise, and it is the majority group” According to prominent Islamic Scholars and righteous they are “Ahlul Hadeeth. “because they do not deviate from the Sunnah of the Holy Prophet (S.A.W.)

Those who follow the teachings of the Quran, the Sunnah of the Holy Prophet (S.A.W.) and adhere to the practice of the Companions and of the successors and follow the middle path avoiding extremism in faith with sincerity and good intention are the Ahlul Hadeeth. May Allah almighty make us righteous and protect us from deviation and innovation.

After this short but comprehensive address the exchange of gifts from the Markazi Jamiat Ahle Hadeeth through Hafiz Muhammad Yahaya, Ameer Jamiat Ahle Hadeeth Hind, and General Secretary Maulana Asghar Imam Mahadi Salafi. Some other gifts from state units of Jamiat were offered to him too.

After the ceremonial function Isha prayer was offered in the Jamiat Jama Masjid where adequate arrangements were made for men and separate arrangement for women devotees.

Lastly the Imam Harame Makki urged the Muslims to live by shariha, unity and Jamaah. He recited an Ayah from Surah Al-Hujrat: ” O mankid! We created you form a male and a female, and made you into Nations and tribes, that you may know each other (not that you may despise (each other ). Verily the most honoured of you in the sight of Allah is (he who is) the most righteous of you. And Allah has full knowledge and is well acquainted (with all things). Surah Al-Hujarat, 49:13)

Mankind is descended from one pair of parents their tribes, races, and notions are convenient labels by which we may know certain differing characteristics. Before Allah they are all one, and he gets most honour who is righteous. “Therefore, Muslims must recognize our own worth and value and must not lose this worth and value. Islam tells us that we must promote dignity and honour among the people in the world. We must honour each other. We must promote unity among ourselves leaving behind the sectarian differences.

The Khutba of Imame Haram was translated into Urdo for the general benefit of the worshippers by Maulana Asghar Imam Mahadi Salafi, General Secretary Markazi Jamiat Ahle hadeeth, Hind and Dr. Abdul Latif Kindi.

Earlier the Imam was garlanded by the representative of Jagat Guru Shankar Acharya when he arrived to Ramlia Ground at 12.40 noon for Juma prayer. The same was appreciated by all. The Khutba and Juma prayer was telecast by ZT Salam and other electronic media.
