MEETING OF MARKAZI JAMIAT AHLE HADEETH’S BOARD OF COUNCELLORS ON MAY 27, 2012

Markazi Jamiat Ahel Hadeeth’s Board of Councellors met in an important session on May 27, 2012 at Ahle Hadeeth Complex, Okhla New Delhi at 10.15 A.M. The session was chaired by Hafiz Muhammad Yahaya Dehlavi (Ameer Markazi Jamiat Ahle Hadeeth) and attended by Board of Councellors from 22 Indian States and Union Territories.

The meeting started with a recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by Hafiz Abdul Qayyum Sahab (General Secretary, Jamiat Ahle Hadeeth Andhra Pradesh unit). Earlier the agenda of the meeting was circulated to honourary members of the Board. Following the agenda, minutes of the last meeting of Board of Councellors were read and confirmed. The General Secretary, Maulana Asghar Imam Mahadi Salafi presented the 5 Years Report of Jamiat activities and action taken reports on various projects. The house appreciated the same and moved forward to another agenda- Selection of Electoral Body.

The Electoral Body, comprising of Dr. Sayyed Abdul Haleem (Ameer, Jamiate Ahle Hadeeth Bihar), Maulana Ghulam Rasool Malik (Ameer, Jamiate Ahle Hadeeth Jammu and Kashmir) and Mr. Wakeel Parvez (Ameer, Jamiat Ahle Hadeeth, Nagpur) was formed to elect the new office bearers. Dr. Sayyed Abdul Haleem (as a leader of Electoral Body) announced the procedure of election and asked the members to inculcate true belief in the Almighty Allah and develop in themselves the sense of accountability before Him. Everyone has a different way of thinking, acting and being which is what differentiates us from matchines. Can you imagine a planet where every one would think and behave in the same manner? How would then new ideas emerge? How would there be any creativity or innovation? He further requested the members to cast their votes without any fear and favour and maintain peace and discipline. He also urged them to pledge not to discriminate any body and to persuade their followers not to do so. Then he announced the procedure of the election. The Board of Councellors expressed their willingness to lend their support to the procedure.

However, Maulana Muqeem Faizi (Mumbai), Hakeem Maulana Ajmal Khan (Haryana) and Hafiz Sulaiman (Meeruth) brought some suggestions. But Board of Councellors discarded for they were unconstitutional and immoral. This could have disastrous consequences for the famed discipline of the Markazi Jamiat Ahle Hadeeth, Hind. However, it was a democratic way in which everyone is given right to speak his mind.

Proceeding further, Dr. Abdul Haleem announced to place before a name or names for the honourable post of Ameer.

Maulana Sheikh A’nul Bari A’liyavi (Ameer, Jamiat Ahle Hadeeth, W.Bengal) proposed the name of Hafiz Muhammad Yahaya Dehlavi for this post which was supported by numerous Ameers of State Units. The Board of Councellors gave their standing support and approval in favour of proposed name. The Electoral Body asked the audience if there was any other name or names against Hafiz Muhammad Yahaya’s candidature. Surprisingly no any name appeared opposing him. Therefore his name was announced as an elected Ameer of Markazi Jamiat Ahle Hadeeth for another 5year-term.

Dr. Abdul Haleem (leader of Electoral Body) announced to propose a name or names for the post of General Secretary. Maulana Khursheed Alam Madani (Deputy Ameer, Jamiate Ahle Hadeeth Bihar) proposed the name of Maulana Asghar Imam Mahadi Salafi supported by numerous Board of Councellors. Inspite of several announcements, no any name appeared opposing his name. So he was declared an elected General Secretary. The same procedure was followed in case of Mr. Wakeel Parvez for Treasurership. No any name appeared against him. So he was elected as a treasurer for a period of 5-years. They all had not faced any opposition from any section of the Councellors.

After the election was over, some Councellors advised the new office-bearers to be firmly committed to maintain peace, discipline and close cooperation with each other. The office bearers cannot function if it has to answer to each noise maker which seeks action on mere allegations. It is immoral to have strange relation with office-bearers or make unfounded allegations against them or accuse each other.

Responding to Councellors comments the new office bearers promised to abide by the Jamiat’s Constitution having the sense of accountability to Allah. They further said: “As we celebrate the re-trusted new administration of Markazi Jamiat Ahle Hadeeth, Hind, our hearts call out for re-conciliation and unity, not hate and disunity. We are one in all respects and are in need to be treated with respect. We seekers of harmony and unity should get organized in order to checkmate the hate-mongers. It is high time that all of us join hands, irrespective of our ideological differences and take up the task of keeping unity among ourselves, serving Islam by following Quran and Sunnah and Tawheed.

Maulana Asghar Imam Mahadi Salafi asserted his vision of Jamaat for next 5-years which was approved by Board of Councellers.
